PENNSYLMANIA:  entertaining and informative stories of people and events in the history of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, presented by Mark Smith.

Mark Smith has worked at the nexus of business, government, and politics for 40 years, from Capitol Hill, to social justice movements, to joining a national consulting firm when it was a startup.  His family is from the Lehigh Valley, and he has lived in Philadelphia, Montgomery, Lehigh, Chester, and Northumberland counties.  Mark holds a Masters Degree in Economics from The University of Pennsylvania.  Over the years, he has had a front-row seat to the ways state and federal governments handle some of the most challenging problems of society.  As a lifelong history enthusiast, Mark has waited for a movement to emerge to encourage the teaching of Pennsylvania history in Pennsylvania schools.  PENNSYLMANIA represents Mark's effort to spark interest in that history.
